Green Catalysis & Process 연구실(그린촉매공정연구실)은 한국과학기술연구원(KIST) 지속가능미래기술연구본부 청정에너지연구센터 소속으로, 탄소중립 사회 실현에 기여하고자 합니다. 본 연구실은 열화학 기술을 기반으로, 화석연료 유래의 제품·연료·화학 원료 등을 이산화탄소나 바이오매스와 같은 탄소중립 원료로부터 생산·대체할 수 있는 기술 개발 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 현재 이현주(Hyunjoo Lee), 하정명(Jeong Myeong Ha), 김창수(Chang Soo Kim), 유천재(Chun-Jae Yoo), 김경수(Kyeongsu Kim), 진성민(Seongmin Jin), 배대영(Dae Young Bae), 최재욱(Jae Wook Choi) 등 8명의 책임/선임연구원이 연구를 이끌고 있습니다.
구체적으로는 다음과 같은 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.
Research
From renewable carbon sources to waste carbon streams — we design catalysts and processes that close the carbon loop.
Chemical processes that convert whole biomass into value-added products and biofuels — feedstock-agnostic conversion, reactive lignin fractionation, and catalytic routes from cellulose to bio-plastic platform chemicals.

News & Updates
Our lab took part in the KIST–KIER–KITECH Carbon Neutrality Technology Workshop, held on 31 August – 1 September 2026 at Vieche Palace Resort in Boryeong and hosted by KIST and chaired by Dr. Jeong Myeong Ha. Forty-one researchers from KIST, KIER and KITECH came together to exchange technologies on petroleum-alternative bio and circular resources and to shape joint convergence research. The programme opened with an invited lecture by Prof. Hochan Jang (Auburn University). Each institute then presented its flagship technology, and the second day was devoted to a planning meeting on petrochemical processes based on bio and circular resources, with all participating researchers.
Welcome Juna and Hyukjun (postdoctoral researchers), Jonathan and Azzahra (M.S. students), and Yeji, Seo Yeon, Seo Hyeon and Kang Un (interns) to our team. Your research will be a great help to our lab!
